Washington State Parks cancellations

Sold out on Washington State Parks reservations? People cancel all the time, and the site goes straight back on sale with no notice. Pick a park below and your dates. We check it around the clock and email you when a site opens. You book it yourself, in your own Washington State Parks reservations account.

Washington State Parks reservations can also notify you itself: it has its own availability notifications. What we add is one search and one account across it, Recreation.gov and 31 other state and provincial systems, with push notifications on your phone, and links that open the park's booking page on the night that came up.

Washington State Parks cancellation policy for campsites

Any cancellation or dropped night: $8 online or $10 by phone.
Plus a share of the cancelled nights: set by how long you've held the reservation: 5% under one month, 10% one to two months, 15% two to three, 20% three to four, 30% four to five, 40% five to six, 50% over six months.
Six or fewer days before arrival: at least 20% if you've held the reservation under four months.
When you can cancel: no earlier than 8 months before arrival and no later than 8 p.m. on your arrival date. A no-show gets no refund.

How far ahead: up to nine months before the first night of your trip.

So the cost depends mostly on when you booked, not when you cancel: the page's own example is a reservation held over six months, charged 50% of the cancelled nights however far ahead it's cancelled.

From Washington State Parks' cancellations page and making reservations, read Oct 4, 2026. Cabins, yurts and group sites often have their own rules; this is the one for campsites.
