Texas State Parks cancellation policy for campsites
- Five days or more before arrival: $10, or what you paid if that's less (entrance fees aside).
- Less than five days before: $10 a night, at most $50.
- Within 24 hours of booking: no penalty, unless the stay runs past the five-month window.
- Same-day reservations: not refundable, says TPWD's reservation information page.
- No-show: you lose everything you paid except entrance fees.
How far ahead: up to five months before arrival for most campsites.
A reservation nobody checks in for by noon the day after arrival is cancelled for its remaining nights.
From Texas Parks and Wildlife's changes and cancellations page and reservation information, read Oct 4, 2026. Cabins, yurts and group sites often have their own rules; this is the one for campsites.
