California State Parks cancellations

Sold out on ReserveCalifornia? People cancel all the time, and the site goes straight back on sale with no notice. Pick a park below and your dates. We check it around the clock and email you when a site opens. You book it yourself, in your own ReserveCalifornia account.

Our emails link to the campground's site grid on ReserveCalifornia; pick the night there (its pages don't take a date from a link).

California State Parks cancellation policy for campsites

• Booking fee: $8.25, never refunded.
• 7 or more days before the reservation start: all site fees back, minus an $8.25 cancellation fee.
• 2 to 6 days before: you also lose the first night's site fee.
• Less than 2 days before, or a no-show: no refund.

How far ahead: up to six months before arrival, on a rolling window. When your date goes on sale →

The reservation start is 12:00 PM on your arrival date, not check-in time: arriving Friday, cancel by noon the Friday before to get your site fees back.

From California State Parks' reservations page and its booking-window page, read Oct 4, 2026. Cabins, yurts and group sites often have their own rules; this is the one for campsites.
