Michigan State Parks cancellations

Sold out on Michigan DNR reservations? People cancel all the time, and the site goes straight back on sale with no notice. Pick a park below and your dates. We check it around the clock and email you when a site opens. You book it yourself, in your own Michigan DNR reservations account.

Michigan DNR reservations can also notify you itself: it has its own availability notifications. What we add is one search and one account across it, Recreation.gov and 31 other state and provincial systems, with push notifications on your phone, and links that open the park's booking page on the night that came up.

Michigan State Parks cancellation policy for campsites

• Booking fee: $8 online or $10 by phone, never refunded.
• Cancel before your arrival date: a $10 fee plus a share of the unused nights, set by how long you've held the reservation: 10% up to 2 months, 15% 2 to 3 months, 20% 3 to 4, 30% 4 to 5, 40% 5 months or more.
• On your arrival date or later: the $10 fee, the first night's camp fee and any nights already passed, and the same share of the nights left.
• Cancelled the day you booked: only the $10 fee.
• When you can cancel: not more than five months before arrival.

How far ahead: up to 6 months before arrival.

From Michigan DNR's reservations FAQ, read Oct 4, 2026. Cabins, yurts and group sites often have their own rules; this is the one for campsites.
