Ontario Parks cancellations

Sold out on Ontario Parks reservations? People cancel all the time, and the site goes straight back on sale with no notice. Pick a park below and your dates. We check it around the clock and email you when a site opens. You book it yourself, in your own Ontario Parks reservations account.

Ontario Parks reservations can also notify you itself: it has its own availability notifications. What we add is one search and one account across it, Recreation.gov and 31 other state and provincial systems, with push notifications on your phone, and links that open the park's booking page on the night that came up.

Ontario Parks cancellation policy for campsites

Before 12:00 pm Eastern on your arrival date: a penalty on the cancelled nights' campsite fees, set by how long you've held the reservation: 10% at one month or less, 20% up to two months, 30% up to three, 40% up to four, 50% beyond four months.
Minimum: $7.52 + HST online, $9.29 + HST by phone or in the park.
After 12:00 pm Eastern on your arrival date: one night's penalty on top of the percentage.
Reservation fee: never refunded.
When you can cancel: not more than 4 months before arrival.

How far ahead: up to five months before arrival.

So the penalty depends on when you booked, not on how soon you cancel: a site booked five months out and cancelled the week before costs half its campsite fees.

From Ontario Parks' penalties page and reservation rules, read Oct 4, 2026. Cabins, yurts and group sites often have their own rules; this is the one for campsites.
