In the last 30 days, 60 booked site-nights at Kirby Cove came back up (6 of them Friday or Saturday nights). Of the 54 that someone rebooked, at least half were gone within 506 minutes, and 11 within an hour.

Arrivals on Saturday, May 1, 2027 went on sale at 7am Pacific on Sunday, November 1. 5 of its 6 sites were already reserved, by stays that started on an earlier night. The 1 sites that went on sale were all gone by 7:02 AM, at our read then.

Kirby Cove Campground cancellation policy
Cancel by 11:59 p.m. two days before you arrive (Wednesday night for a Friday arrival) and you lose only the $10 fee; after that you also lose the first night. That's Recreation.gov's site-wide rule. Its page adds:
The Kirby Cove Day Use Site must be cancelled or modified more than 14 days before your check-in date otherwise it will be considered a late cancellation.
